Shikshan Sahay Yojana: The objective of this scheme is to help two children of construction workers engaged in the construction industry from primary school to higher education (Ph.D.) to build their careers. Government of Gujarat has launched Shram Yogi Education Assistance Scheme.

Shikshan Sahay Yojana Rules

  • The benefit of this scheme will be available to the worker from the date of registration with the board as a construction worker. The identity card as a construction worker should be renewed three years from the date of registration. The construction worker has to apply in the prescribed form and within the prescribed time limit. Application has to be made within 3 months from admission in each academic year.
  • Along with the application, proof of admission in that educational institution such as certificate of the principal of the institution or admit card has to be submitted.
  • In respect of hostel admission, a certificate signed by the Rector/ Warden of the concerned hostel/ authorized person of the institution has to be produced.
  • This assistance will be admissible only in respect of son/daughter of construction worker and spouse of construction worker (age limit 30 years) admitted in educational institutes/schools/colleges recognized by the government.
  • Only two dependent children of the construction worker and spouse of the construction worker (age limit 30 years) will be eligible for sufficient assistance.
  • Construction children studying as external students from government recognized institutes/colleges will also be eligible for educational assistance as per existing norms.
  • Children of construction workers studying in the National Institute of Open Schooling are also eligible for educational assistance.
  • A student who fails once in that academic year/semester will be eligible for this assistance for the next year/semester for the same standard/class. Of course this assistance will be limited to one trial only. A second fail in the same standard/class will not be eligible for re-aid for the same standard/class.

Documents required for education assistance scheme

  • Bonafide certificate of ongoing course of the student
  • aadhar card
  • Bank passbook or canceled cheque
  • Student's last year result
  • Receipt of payment of school or college fees
  • If the assistance is Rs 5000 or more then affidavit and related form has to be filled

How to Apply Online for Education Assistance Scheme?

Applicant can apply online by visiting https://sanman.gujarat.gov.in/ website.

  • Step 1: Applicants can apply online by visiting this website https://sanman.gujarat.gov.in/ .
  • Step 2: First registration will be required and you will get ID password.
  • Step 3: In registration you will be asked to fill construction workers details and click on create button.
  • Step 4: After this you have to login through ID password.
  • Step 5: Then, you have to click on Education Assistance/PhD Scheme.
  • Step 6: Now, you will see information and rules about the scheme, read it and click on Accept button.
  • Step 7: After that click on Apply button.
  • Step 8: Then, you have to fill the personal details which include Labor ID Card, Student Information and Address details then click on Save button.
  • Step 9: Then, you have to fill the details of the scheme including the study details.
  • Step 10: Then, you have to upload the documents. ( Note: Documents should be uploaded signed and self-attested in Xerox. And their size should be within 1 MB.)
  • Step 11: After uploading the documents, you have to read the terms and select if you agree with all the terms and click on save button.
  • Step 12: Now, your application has been submitted and you have received the application number, you can check your application status by saving it.
